Six US soldiers have been killed in bomb attacks in Iraq in the past two days.
Four soldiers were killed and two wounded by an improvised explosive device on Thursday in Tal Afar, about 390 km north of Baghdad, the US military said in a statement.
A vehicle-borne bomb killed two US soldiers on Friday near Diyara, west of Baghdad, it said.
The soldiers belonged to the 155th Brigade Combat Team, II Marine Expeditionary Force.
Tal Afar, west of Iraq's third-largest city Mosul, not far from the border with Syria, has been the site of persistent insurgent violence over the past five months.
The US military believes insurgents have entered Iraq from Syria and built a stronghold in the town. There is also heavy militant activity in Mosul.
